In an encounter that took place in Nizamuddin area of South east Delhi on Sunday evening, three bike-borne criminals were intercepted and in the ensuing firing one criminal was shot in the leg.

The other two also tried to escape on their bike but both of them were chased by police team and caught at Lodhi Road flyover, said the DCP.However, The third suspect, who was running on foot, fired from a pistol.The accused have been identified as Faizan (22), Suhaib (21) and Salman (22) all residents of Delhi’s Bhajanpura area.

The injured criminal is being treated at a hospital in the city. Salmaan is also involved in 15 cases of robbery, snatching and arms act. The police team also fired in self defence and one bullet hit him on the right leg. Whereas Suhaib is involved in one case of snatching, said the DCP.
